On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Deputies made a traffic stop at the intersection of Beaufort Street and Cooper St.

Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  K-9 unit was on scene and gave a positive response.  The search of the vehicle revealed a syringe with clear liquid suspected to be heroin.   

Javen Rayshawn Eaglin, 22, of 1212 West Railroad avenue, Welsh was arrested and booked into the parish jail for possession of Heroin.
