03/06/2023

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to 18043 Highway 383, Iowa, Louisiana, in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked in someone's driveway.

Deputies spoke with the driver, Jesse Lee Davis, 47, of 6859 Tom Hebert road, Lake Charles.  Davis acted very nervous and advised the vehicle was not his, it belonged to a friend, and he had borrowed it.  Deputies were advised by dispatch that Davis had a history of narcotics arrests and was a felon.

Deputies could smell a strong odor emitting from the vehicle and asked Davis if there were drugs in the car. Davis responded ,  not that he knows of, that there should not be, and if there is, it is not his vehicle, so it does not belong to him.

A k-9 unit responded and alerted to the vehicle.  A search revealed a blue plastic eye glass case with a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana , a small plastic bag with a white crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine and rolling cigarette papers.

Deputies also located a flare gun with a spent 12-gauge shotshell in the chamber and a black Sig Sauer P365.

Davis was placed under arrest for two counts of Louisiana Revised Statute , Possession of a firearm by a felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 14 grams,  Possession of Schedule II, Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Schedule IV.
