On Sunday, February 19, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 101 and Lakota Street, Lacassine, Louisiana in reference to a criminal trespassing complaint.

Upon arrival, deputies met with a male subject identified as Joshua Chantel Lewis, 44, of 21259 S. Frontage road, Iowa, LA walking on the BNSF Railway property just west of Highway 101.

While speaking with the subject, deputies advised Lewis he was trespassing on the railway property and railroad authorities wanted him removed.

Lewis advised he was not trespassing because he owned the railroad, and he walked on the property all the time. Deputies placed Lewis under arrest for criminal trespass and he was booked into the parish jail.
