Weekend arrests

On September 27, 2022, detectives began investigating an incident which occurred on September 21, 2022, in which a 1-year-old juvenile sustained a severe head injury while being cared for at a residence in Elton. Subsequent to their investigation, detectives issued a warrant for Coriana Renee Young, 27, of 616 St. Joseph Street, Elton, on October 11, 2022. Detectives learned that Young was in the Natchez area for work and contacted authorities there for assistance. Later in the evening on October 11, 2022, deputies with Adams County Sheriff's Office in Natchez, MS located Young and arrested her without incident. She has been booked into the Adams County Jail pending extradition for 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile.

 

On October 8, 2022, Deputies working the fair responded to a possible fight. Deputies escorted individuals involved to the east gate to make them leave.  Deputies observed several individuals continuing to have verbal altercations and observed one male pull a firearm from his waist and chamber a round.  Deputies ordered the male to drop his weapon. He complied and was taken into custody.  Reginald Lemond Allen, 49, of 447 Gordon Woods drive, Lake Charles was arrested and booked for Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and 14:69.1, Possession of a stolen firearm.

 

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Deputies working stationary radar on Highway 1126 near Keystone Road, observed a yellow Camaro travelling at 115 miles per hour (mph) East on Louisiana Highway 1126 A pursuit began when the vehicle failed to stop upon activation of deputies emergency lights. The Camaro accelerated to speeds in excess to 125 mile per hour. The vehicle turned into the address of 9313 Louisiana Highway 102 and the driver turned off the vehicle. The driver was called out of the vehicle and ordered to lay on the ground. Trivina Lamara Reed, 23, of 2452 Rose Street, Lake Charles was arrested and booked into the parish jail. Reed was arrested for Louisiana Revised Statue's 32:61 Maximum Speed, 14:108.1 Aggravated Flight, 32:295 Child restraints required, 32:415 Driving Under Suspension, 14:92.1 Encouraging Child Delinquency.

 

On October 10, 2022, Deputies responded to 18296 Highway 99 Welsh Louisiana, in reference to a domestic disturbance. While in route, dispatch alerted deputies that the suspect was reported to have a gun and stated he was going to shoot anyone who goes onto the property. Deputies arrived at the address and identified the suspect walking outside.  Deputies took the suspect into custody without incident.  Kymani Rashad Joseph Normand, 25, of 18296 Hwy 99, Welsh, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.  The complainant reported that she was slapped in the face by Normand while holding an infant. 

 

On October 11, 2022, Deputies were dispatched to 522 South Railroad Avenue, Jennings, Louisiana, in reference to suspicious circumstances. The complainant reported seeing someone on his grandfather's property.  During the investigation deputies discovered one of the individuals on the property had an outstanding warrant.  He initially gave deputies a false name.  Roger James Guillotte, 37, of 607 West Nezpique, street, Jennings, was booked into the jail for Louisiana Revised Statute 14:108.B(1)(c.) Resisting an officer by providing false information. Roger was also booked on an active contempt of court warrant, warrant number CR-440-21.
