On June 24, 2022, at 4 am Deputies were dispatched to 18159 TV Tower Road in reference to a disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with complainant who advised that the person he was living with attempted to strike him with a hatchet. As deputies were approaching the camper that complainant said they were living in, a male subject ran into the camper and began yelling for deputies to leave. 

Deputies successfully talked the male to surrender without incident.  Jonathan Taylor Morgan, 38, of 825 S Iberia St, New Iberia, LA was arrested and transported to the parish jail. 

While in route to the jail Morgan became irate and began kicking the rear window of the patrol unit to cause damage and get out. 

Morgan repeatedly threatened to kill deputies and their families while also spitting on them.  Morgan is charged with Aggravated assault, 4 counts of intentional exposure to Aids, and 3 counts of battery of correctional facility employee.  He is being held in the parish jail with no bond.
