On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 7:00 pm deputies responded to 19257 Dama Landry Road in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the complainant, who advised they were having a get together at the residence and kids were playing on a waterslide and shooting water guns at each other. 

At one point a child began crying after being hit with the water gun and his father began to holler at the kids and fired a 9mm handgun into the air. 

The suspect Norman Alan Sammons, 36, of 5494 Grand Marais road, Jennings, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail for Illegal carry and discharge of weapons and disturbing the peace by offensive language.
