On Thursday, March 17, 2022, Jeff Davis Sheriff's deputies received a call of a suspicious white male riding a bicycle south bound on Louisiana Highway 26 armed with a rifle.

The male was located La 26 north of LA 102. When deputies made contact they observed a silver rifle lying on the ground near him.  During there contact, deputies requested permission to search him for weapons and he consented. 

Deputies found in his pants behind his back a hatchet and in his pants pocket a container, containing methamphetamine. Deputies also found Suboxone in a green bag nearby.   

Morris Joseph Savoie, 39, of 3821 Ron road, Jennings was arrested and booked into the parish jail for Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone), Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a CDS, and Contempt of Court Warrant.
