On May 13, 2021, Deputies assigned to the Sex offender watch received information that a registered sex offender was observed within 1000 feet of a public school in violation of the registered sex offender guidelines. 

Deputies conducted surveillance on the afternoon of Thursday May 13, 2021 near the Welsh elementary school.  Deputies observed a vehicle driven by a known sex offender pull into the driveway on Bourgeois street in Welsh within 1000 feet of the school. 

Deputies approached and confronted Christopher Troy Gary, 37, of 12143 Pine Island Hwy, Welsh. Gary was advised to leave the area and report to the Sheriff's Office for his annual registration. 

On May 19, 2021 Christopher Gary reported to the Sheriff Office as ordered and was arrested on warrant for Unlawful presence of a sex offender.  Gary is held pending court appearance.
