On April 27, 2021, Deputies with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office responded to Lake Arthur High School for a report of an theft of a school bus.

Video surveillance recordings showed a male in a blue jacket, a pair of gray and black Nike shoes, a pair of Beat headphones and a pair of Air pods. A second video recording showed the suspect as a white male, wearing a Santa hat, a blue jacket, red shirt, khaki pants, and a pair of Nike shoes.

Later in the day, St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office informed us that they located the bus at 332 Crooked Road in Opelousas, Louisiana. St. Landry deputies advised the suspect, Cody Moore was also found wearing the exact same clothing described from the surveillance camera footage.

St. Landry arrested Moore for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Cody Wade Moore, 34, of 5748 Andrus cove road, Jennings was transferred to Jeff Davis and booked on charges of simple burglary, Theft, 3 counts of contempt of court and theft of a motor vehicle.
