Domestic abuse battery arrest

On Monday morning , January 4, 2021, Deputies were dispatched to 8317 Martin Roy Road, Jennings, Louisiana, in reference to a domestic disturbance. 

Deputies spoke with the complainant , who stated she and her live in boyfriend of two (2) years, Justin Mata, were at their residence this evening, and an argument began.

Mata had been drinking and began yelling at her. The complainant said she asked Mata to stop yelling, he begin hitting her in the head and in the back, as well as strangling her. 

Deputies observed marks to her face, neck, and back.   Deputies located Mata in the residence and he was taken into custody without incident. While en-route to the jail, Justin stated he "may have choked her or grabbed her by the neck" during the argument. 

Justin Joseph Mata,37, of 8317 Martin Roy Rd., Jennings  was booked into the parish jail for Domestic abuse battery with strangulation and an outstanding contempt of court warrant.
