On Tuesday September 8, 2020, deputies were dispatched to Interstate 10 on a report of a disturbance involving two people in a red Toyota. 

Deputies observed the vehicle and made a stop on F.E. Landry road.  Both occupants reported batteries inflicted by the other.

George Allen Soileau, 45, of 240 John's circle, Ragley and Shellie Regina Shortt,44, of 1807 Rosary Lane, Sulphur were booked into the parish jail for domestic abuse battery.

Soileau was also charged with possession of CDS I marijuana. Shortt was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and was charged with aggravated battery for striking Soileau with an iron.
