There is a renewal for the Law enforcement millage up on the ballot.
The renewal is crucial to protecting and serving the citizens of Jefferson Davis Parish. The property tax is exempt for the first $75,000 of property value. As an example, if your home is valued at $275,000, the cost to you would be $10.00 a month or $120.00 a year.

The millage brings in approximately 20% of the Sheriff 's department budget.

Those funds go to fund patrol, criminal investigations, civil office, tax division, half of the new jails correctional deputies, transport and funeral division, and administration.

Failure of the millage renewal would negatively impact our ability to respond to calls for assistance, would effect the number of deputies available to patrol our neighborhoods and limit some of the services we currently provide.
