Suspicious vehicle call leads to drug arrests

Monday evening, August 10th patrol deputies were dispatched to Elton drive and Dave Williams road in Jennings for a suspicious vehicle parked at 11:30 pm.  When deputies arrived the driver said the truck had run out of gas.  The driver then stated she thought she could make it to a gas station.  The truck drove a short distance down Elton drive and pulled off on the shoulder again. 

The driver appeared nervous and when deputies retrieved driving information and criminal histories showed narcotics charges in the past.  A consent to search was requested and the driver refused.  A k-9 responded to the location and alerted to the presence of narcotics. The search revealed methamphetamine, marijuana and Gabapentin tablets.  The driver was also driving under suspension. 

Tiffani Mattai John, 30, of 129 John road, Elton, LA was charged with driving under suspension, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of legend drug without prescription, taking contraband into a penal facility, obstruction of justice and resisting an officer.  John attempted to hide and destroy drug evidence after her arrest.

The passenger, Andre Chastz Henderson, 32, of 1703 Martin Luther King, Elton, LA was charged with possession of legend drug without prescription and possession of schedule II CDS. Both were booked into the parish jail with no bond set at this time.
