On Saturday June 13, 2020 Deputies stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-10 at 10:30 pm near Jennings. 

When deputies approached the vehicle they smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana.  Deputies spoke to the driver and passenger and they admitted to smoking marijuana but said there were no drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up no narcotics. 

During pat down for weapons, the passenger was found to have drug concealed on her person. 

Jonecka Monique Lewis, 34, of 6816 West Coronet Court, New Orleans was arrested and booked into the parish jail for possession of CDS II with intent to distribute.  Deputies recovered 148 grams of crack cocaine.
