2020 Hurricane Season Checklist

06/02/2020

Now that hurricane season is upon us, it is a good time to remind our friends and family to "Get a Game Plan".  For those of us that have lived in Louisiana, we know how devastating these storms can be.  This year, hurricane season will be taking a different look than normal as it is compounding with the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19.  As we move toward re-opening our country in phases, it is imperative that we look over our plans for hurricane season.  There may be things in your personal Evacuation/Response Plan that will need to be adjusted due to limitations caused by COVID-19 (closures, hour of operation changes, price changes, supply limitations, etc.)

In the event of an emergency or disaster there will be ongoing information and guidance released from various local government offices.  Ensure that you have signed up for social media and alerts through the Governor's Office  of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office, Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury your local Police Department, and your favorite local news media.  Please listen carefully to all information available so you can make the best decision for your family.
