Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s office received a complaint in February of a reported rape of a 14 year old juvenile.  The incident was reported by the victim to have occurred in November 2018 near a bridge in Welsh. 

The subject, Michael Lynn Prudhomme III, 18, of 208 Leblanc street, Welsh was arrested Wednesday, April 10th by detectives on Warrant for 3rd degree Rape. 

Prudhomme is being held in the parish jail with no bond. Prudhomme was previously arrested January 26, 2019 for Simple criminal damage to property Aggravated assault on a peace officer with a firearm and Contempt of court.
