Jefferson Davis Sheriff’s patrol division made an arrest last night during a traffic stop.

Deputies questioned the driver when he could not produce documents to identify the owner of the vehicle.  A strong odor of air fresheners and numerous hanging air freshener dispensers were observed in the vehicle.

The driver, Eldar Azakov, 38, of  4726 Quiet Woods LN, Fairfax, VA also has a criminal history for possession of marijuana. Azakov was asked for consent to search the vehicle, he refused to give consent.

Deputies responded with a k-9 and the k-9 alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 30 grams of marijuana and Amphetamine tablets.  Azakov was transported and booked into the parish jail on possession of CDS II, Possession of CDS I, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
