Drug arrest


Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s deputies made several drug arrests on the 4th of July holiday.  First arrest involved a business check by patrol at Bayou Mart in Lacassine Tuesday night, July 3rd around 9:00 pm. 

A white male was observed in a white GMC truck on the south side of the business.  When deputies approached and spoke to the occupant, his speech was slurred. Deputies observed a pill bottle in plain view in the vehicle and asked the occupant about it. Deputies were told the bottle contained Lortabs and they discovered it had Hydrocodone tablets in it.

The occupant, Craig Davin Gwatney,51, of 1803 Charity street, Abbeville, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail on charges of Possession of cds II Hysrocodone and possession of CDS I marijuana. Gwatney’s bond is set at $10,000
