Protective order arrest

Detectives made an arrest today during family court at the Parish courthouse.  On April 16, 2018 Detectives were assigned an investigation at 13522 Highway 101 #2, Lacassine in reference to violation of a protective order that occurred on April 12.

On April 18, deputies observed an altercation occurring in the courthouse parking lot, the two individuals involved in the disturbance were the victim and Edwin Jackson. There was an existing protective order signed by Judge Gunnell in place against Jackson.

Detectives prepared a warrant of arrest for Edwin Jackson, charging him with one count of stalking and one count of violating the order of protection. 

On April 26, Edwin Jackson was on the second floor of the courthouse waiting to appear before Judge Heinen for a hearing.  Detectives summoned Mr. Jackson to step outside of the courtroom and he was placed under arrest and booked into the parish correctional facility without incident. Jackson is held on a $5,000 bond.
