A Jennings couple has been arrested and is in jail after month long joint investigation between JDSO and Elderly Protection Service (EPS). George Mundt, 65, and Sylvia Landry, 69, both of 8623 Martin Roy Rd., Jennings, are being held in the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on charges of Cruelty to the infirm.
 
In mid June 2013, EPS contacted the JDSO detectives division in reference to a complaint they had received about an elderly male being abused. When detectives arrived at the location, they found the 70 year old male had bruising to his body and in very poor health. He was transported to the Jennings American Legion Hospital for treatment where is was found he was also severely malnourished. Mundt and Landry were the caregivers of the male subject at the time.
 
Mundt was arrested on July 3, 2013 and booked into the parish jail where he remains on a $25,000.00 bond. Sylvia was arrested on July 30, 2013 and booked into the parish jail. No bond has been listed for Sylvia as of this time.
