Theft arrests

On October 31, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to 19064 Highway 90, near Lacassine, Louisiana, in reference to suspicious circumstances taking place at that location. The location is the Dollar General store.

 

Dispatchers advised patrol while enroute to the store, that there was a black male in the store,  who appeared to be disoriented and possibly under the influence of drugs refusing to pay for items.  

 

The male appeared to be agitated by deputies' presence and walked outside. Deputies approached the male to get his identification and verify that he had taken items from the store without paying.  The male raised his hands reaching for deputies.  Deputies struggled with the male to place him in handcuffs.  A taser was deployed on the male to get him to comply and handcuffed. 

 

A female approached and began yelling at the deputies while videoing with her cell phone. She was also placed under arrest and handcuffed.   The female was patted down and deputies located a small baggy of marijuana on her person.  A k-9 unit arrived and the positively alerted and the vehicle was then searched. Inside the vehicle, deputies located multiple merchandise that were taken out of the store. The store attendant conducted an inventory of the items and advised deputies the items taken totaled $2,399.29.

 

Jaela Renee Feverjean, 38, of 620 Calcasieu avenue, Lake Arthur, was arrested and booked into the parish jail for resisting an officer, interfering with law enforcement investigation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS, and Theft over $1,000.00

 

Harris Joseph Gobar II, 37, of 1097 Zin Zin road, Breaux Bridge, La was booked into the parish jail for 2 counts resisting an officer with force or violence, 2 counts battery of a police officer, Theft over $1,000, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of CDS II, Possession of marijuana, and simple criminal damage to property.
