On October 8, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to 3829 Tommy Road, Jennings, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputies met the complainant who advised the victim and suspect were in the bedroom at the front of the trailer.

Deputies contacted the two in the bedroom and asked Justin to let the victim go and he refused.  Deputies had to forcefully remove Batiste deploying a Tazer to get him handcuffed and under control. 

Justin Matthews Batiste, 39, of 831 South Market Street, Opelousas, La was transported to the parish jail and booked for Battery of a Dating Partner, Resisting a Police Officer with force or violence, Batter of a Police Officer, Taking Contraband into a Penal Facility, Taking Contraband into a State Hospital, Cruelty to Juveniles, Possession of Marijuana/THC/Chemical Derivatives 1st 14 grams or less, and Possession of CDS Schedule II. 

During booking deputies located a small baggie containing a crystal substance believed to be Crystal Meth and a clear bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana with two roaches.
