Stolen vehicle recovered

On Monday, September 18, 2023, Deputies were notified to be on the lookout for a stolen 2003 black Chevrolet Tahoe. 

 

While on patrol deputies observed a black Tahoe stopped at the Grab-N-Geaux convenience store.  Deputies approached the vehicle and detained the driver and passenger during the investigation into the stolen vehicle. 

 

The driver, Jeffrey Lee Adams, 34, of 318 Fields lane, Lake Charles was handcuffed and placed into the deputy's unit. Deputies observed Adams moving around in the unit and emptied his pockets.  Under the seat deputies found Adams had concealed $1.00 of US Currency, the registration, and an insurance card for the stolen vehicle, and 2 clear plastic bags.  

 

One bag contained 6.54 grams of crystal-like matter identified as methamphetamine.  The second bag contained 5- and one-half green pills identified as Schedule 4 Clonazepam.

 

Adams was booked into the parish jail on the following charges:  Possession of Schedule I (Heroin), Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone), Possession of Schedule IV (2 counts / Clonazepam) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.  He was booked without incident.  The owner of the stolen vehicle was contacted and he took possession of the vehicle.
