On March 22, 2026, Patrol Deputies with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office were conducting proactive patrols in the Elton community, while patrolling, a traffic stop was initiated on a blue Hyundai in reference to erratic driving and failure to signal. During the traffic stop, the driver, Jazzlyn Robinson, stated the vehicle was a rental and gave inconsistent stories about her destination. She admitted there was a firearm in the vehicle, but she denied consent to search for the vehicle. K-9 was requested and upon arrival conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and obtained a positive odor response on the vehicle. Three juveniles (two 4-yr olds and a 2-yr old) were in the backseat at the time of the stop. A search of the vehicle was conducted and illicit narcotics were located inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested without incident and was booked in the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on three counts of Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine, Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine, Hydrocodone), Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana), Possession of CDS in the presence of a firearm, and three counts of Possession of CDS in the presence of a minor.
