JDPSO Announces Retirement of K-9 Harry

K-9 Harry entered service with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office on January 21, 2022, and quickly proved himself to be a dedicated, dependable, and highly skilled member of the agency. Over the course of his career, Harry participated in 170 deployments and assisted in 17 arrests, consistently demonstrating professionalism, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to keeping the community safe.

Harry's contributions extended far beyond operational support. His exceptional detection abilities led to the seizure of 286.023 grams of marijuana, 122.268 grams of methamphetamine, 10.07 grams of fentanyl, 68.610 liters of promethazine, 15.5 grams of heroin, 7 pounds and 23 grams of MDMA, and 24.2 pounds of cocaine. His efforts also aided in the recovery of 8 firearms, $22,380.00 in U.S. currency, and $10,399.29 in property. These remarkable achievements reflect not only his extraordinary training and instincts but also the strong partnership he shared with his handlers and fellow deputies.
