Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office Announces Challenge Coin Recipients
Sheriff Kyle C. Miers, along with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office, is proud to announce the recipients of departmental challenge coins in recognition of outstanding service, lifesaving actions, technical excellence, and unwavering dedication to the community.
On June 1, 2025, deputies responded to a medical emergency involving an inmate at the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the inmate was unresponsive, not breathing, and without a pulse. Deputy Brevan Fields immediately took decisive action and, without hesitation, began lifesaving measures. His swift response resulted in the restoration of the inmate's breathing and pulse. Deputy Fields continued to monitor the inmate until medical personnel arrived. Without his quick and professional actions, the outcome may have been tragic.
On November 23, 2025, deputies once again responded to a medical emergency involving an inmate at the parish jail. Deputies encountered an unresponsive individual who was not breathing and had no pulse. Deputy Labrishca Bouley, Deputy Jude Fruge, and Sergeant Tanner Richert acted immediately, performing lifesaving measures that successfully restored the inmate's breathing and pulse. The deputies continued providing care until EMS personnel arrived. Their coordinated and rapid response played a critical role in saving a life.
The Sheriff's Office also proudly recognizes Deputy Connie Sarvis for her outstanding service to the community. Deputy Sarvis has been instrumental in coordinating and expanding the Sheriff's Office's involvement in community outreach programs throughout Jefferson Davis Parish. Working closely with organizations such as Council on Aging and Catholic Charities, she has built strong partnerships and dedicated countless hours to supporting local initiatives.
Deputy Sarvis developed an innovative strategy to streamline monthly meal box distributions at the parish multi-purpose building, significantly improving efficiency while reducing the time and manpower required. During the January 2026 winter storm, she went above and beyond her duties by providing clean clothing to those in need at the cold weather shelter, coordinating warm meal deliveries, and offering compassion and support to all who sought refuge. She also personally prepared breakfast for individuals utilizing the shelter and volunteers assisting with operations.
In addition, the Sheriff's Office recognizes Logan Levy for exceptional technical service and innovation. Logan Levy consistently goes above and beyond, often working outside of normal hours while continuously identifying ways to improve efficiency across the agency. Known as a dependable and respected team member across all divisions, Logan is always willing to assist wherever needed.
His expertise has significantly enhanced the operations of the Sheriff's Office. Logan engineered a Windows Deployment Service that has streamlined the setup of new computers for years to come, deployed a next-generation firewall to strengthen cybersecurity, and built a secure digital evidence repository supporting narcotics investigations. He has also led major projects such as the rollout of a new Criminal and Traffic collections application and even created a custom virtual macOS environment on short notice to support time-sensitive investigative needs.
Serving as the backbone of the agency's technical infrastructure, Logan Levy solely maintains more than 300 endpoints and manages over 1,100 support tickets annually. His tireless commitment, technical skill, and professionalism embody the core values of integrity and accountability, making him an invaluable member of the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office.
