Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office Assists Attorney General Investigation Agents in the Apprehension of a Church Point Man Suspected of Possessing Pornography Including Juveniles
On January 8, 2025, Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office dispatchers notified the patrol division of a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) traveling Eastbound on I-10. Dispatch described the vehicle as a white Toyota Tacoma driven by Jacoby Recard who was wanted for six counts of child pornography. Deputies set up on I-10 when Sgt. Mackenzie Carrier located the vehicle matching the description given by dispatch. Sgt. Carrier conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle at milepost 64 near Jennings. Sgt. Carrier was able to detain the driver, identified as Jacoby Recard from Church Point Louisiana. During the traffic stop Sgt. Carrier was advised the Attorney General's Office was also executing a search warrant on Recard's residence. Sgt. Carrier transported Recard to Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office Correctional Center where he was booked in and released to the Attorney General's Office.
