On April 5, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of Hill Road, Welsh. A neighbor called dispatch stating there was a suspicious person with a flashlight messing around a four-wheeler. 

When deputies arrived, they observed a male subject standing near a four-wheeler next to roadway. 

Deputies identified the subject as Cody Marshall Frugé, 30, of 12286 Hill Road, Welsh.

Cody was seen holding a large, black, nylon duffle bag when deputies approached him.  While speaking to Cody, he placed the bag on the ground and at that time, Deputies observed a brown, wooden stock of a firearm inside the unzipped bag. The bag contained a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, with a sawed-off barrel, a wooden pistol grip handle and no serial number visible. 

Cody Fruge was arrested and booked into the parish jail for possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
