On March 15, 2023, at approximately 8:20 pm , Deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 90 and Vaussine Road, Lacassine, Louisiana, in reference to someone standing in the roadway.

Deputies located a white male standing in the roadway waving a flashlight.  The male, identified as Taylor Adam Mallett, 24 of 11268 Hwy 99, Welsh, told deputies that he was scared because he thought there were mountain lions after him. 

A computer inquiry alerted deputies to an outstanding warrant for Mallett. 

For his safety and to clear the warrant, Mallett was arrested and booked into the parish jail on charge of simple criminal damage to property.  Mallett would also be evaluated by medical staff at the parish jail.
