On March 8,2023, Deputies were notified of a large disturbance involving gun fire on St. Joseph Street, Elton Louisiana.

While in route to the location Elton Police advised the situation was under control.  Elton Police and Coushatta tribal Police were on the scene. 

When deputies arrived, they were informed a group of adults and juveniles were involved in a fight and one individual had fired shots from a handgun.

Elton Police provided information on the incident and asked Jeff Davis Sheriff's detectives to investigate.  Detectives identified the person firing the handgun. 

Lande Maurice Anthony, 31, of 815 St. Joseph Street, Elton, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail for Aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal carrying of weapons.
