Friday, February 24, 2023, Deputies were responding to I-10 East bound to assist with a traffic stop. As Deputies entered onto I-10 East bound at milepost 54, a gray Chevrolet Malibu passed at 94 miles per hour in a posted 70 mile per hour zone.

The vehicle continued accelerating and the last speed was 98 miles per hour near milepost 57.  The suspect vehicle moved into the left lane, accelerating to 113 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle made a sudden lane change cutting off a large truck. The suspect exited I-10 at milepost 64 and ran the stop sign at speeds of approximately 70 miles per hour, entered the on ramp.  

The suspect entered the East bound lanes of travel again reaching speeds of 128 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle forced vehicles off the Interstate and at least one truck into the median.  The suspect exited I-10 at milepost 76 and drove into the ditch at the exit ramp and Jasmine Rd in Acadia Parish.

The suspect was taken into custody by Jennings Police Officers without incident.  Deputies observed a clear plastic bag containing marijuana on the front driver's seat. 

The driver, Marc Anthony Stewart, 33, of 9231 Pagewood lane, Houston, Texas was booked into the parish jail for Speeding , aggravated flight from an officer and possession of marijuana.
