On October 19, 2022, Deputies went to 2110 Demary Road, Jennings, to attempt to locate and arrest a suspect on warrants. 

Warren Joseph Bourgeois, 47, was arrested and booked into the parish jail for five counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and three contempt of court warrants outstanding. 

The investigation revealed that Bourgeois had shot and killed a group of Guineas on October 16, 2022.  The guineas belonged to a neighbor and Bourgeois claimed the birds were making noise, keeping his mother awake
