Drug arrest

10/17/2022

On October 15, 2022, Deputies were dispatched to Henry's Truck stop,  Lacassine, in reference to a reckless driver around 11:00 am.

When deputies arrived, they observed a white male passed out in the driver's seat of a blue Ford F-150.  The vehicle engine was running and there was a 4 year old child unrestrained sitting in the front passenger seat.

The driver was unresponsive at first and then began moving and opening his eyes. The driver was responsive but not acting normally. The driver requested paramedics, stating he was dizzy, and he continued to nod off and had slurred speech when he responded.

Deputies removed the driver from the vehicle and during pat down discovered a lighter and a small clear Ziplock bag containing suspected narcotics.  The powdery substance tested positive for fentanyl.

Arnold Keith Harrell II, 41, of 7772 Crochet Road, Hayes, LA was transported by Acadian ambulance and treated at Ochsner hospital Jennings.  Once released Harrell was booked into the parish jail for possession of CDS II, and illegal use of CDS in the presence of a minor.
