On September 7, 2022, Deputies were dispatched to 19023 Woolridge Road, Lacassine, Louisiana, in reference to Cruelty to Animals. 

Deputies observed several dogs chained in the yard that appeared to be malnourished, with skeletal bones showing.  Deputies contacted the owner and discovered additional dogs in the residence in bad shape, with pelvic bones visible. 

Yesenia Paola Salter, 28, of Iowa was arrested and booked into the parish jail for simple cruelty to animals.  During processing in the jail , Salter removed a baggy of marijuana from her clothing and turned it over to deputies.  Additional charge of possession of marijuana was added to her booking.
