On June 11, 2022, at 5:25 pm Deputies were dispatched to 110 Willard Street, Welsh, Louisiana, in reference to trespassing.

Upon arrival, Deputies observed a black male lying on the ground in the yard. The complainant and owner of the property did not know the person lying in his yard and wanted him removed. 

Deputies attempted to talk to the man, and he opened his eyes and began swinging at the deputies.  The man was placed in handcuffs and continued trying to fight with deputies, kicking and struggling with deputies. 

Carey Dwayne Lyons , 60, of 14127 Payton road, Welsh was arrested and booked into the parish jail for criminal trespass, 2 counts of battery of police officer, simple criminal damage to property, 4 counts of resisting and officer and 2 counts of public intimidation and retaliation.
