On Saturday, May 14, 2022, at midnight deputies patrolling observed two males sitting at the Public Library located at 813 Main Street Elton.

Deputies approached the two and asked them what they were doing at the library, after hours.  One male was identified as Jamie Paul Langley, 49, of 719 Briscoe road, Elton, LA said they stopped to charge their phones and use the library WIFI.

Deputies noticed they seemed to be high on something and asked if they had any illegal substances on them.  Langley admitted to deputies that he had some marijuana. 

Deputies found an Altoids can that contained a small bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a small bag of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Deputies  placed Langley under arrest for possession of Schedule 1 and 2 narcotics and transported him to the Parish Jail.
