Residential burglary case solved

On February 28, 2022, Deputies were dispatched to 6022 Lyons Road, Lake Arthur, Louisiana, in reference to a Burglary. Unknown suspects entered the residence thru a window in the garage.  A large Browning gun safe was stolen.  The gun safe contained cash, personal papers and identification.  Surveillance video from a residential security camera system had footage of two males at the residence in a Silver Kia SUV. 

Jeff Davis Sheriff's patrol deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved Wednesday, March 2, 2022in the afternoon in Lake Arthur.  Detectives responded to the location in Lake Arthur with patrol and the investigation lead deputies to two residences.  Deputies obtained search warrants for the two residences and discovered the stolen safe.  Detectives also found a large amount of illegal narcotics and the two suspects involved. 

The search of 537 Derouen street, Lake Arthur revealed the stolen safe, marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine, Hydromorphone, and Quetapin and suspect, Daniel Stroder, hiding in the attic. 

Daniel Stroder, 33 of 537 Derouen street was arrested and booked into the parish jail for possession of marijuana, possession, manufacture, CDS I over 28 gr, possession of CDS II (2 cts), possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, Theft over $5,000.00, Simple criminal damage to property and simple burglary. 

The search of 908 State st. , Lake Arthur revealed methamphetamine and Robert James Meaux. 

Meaux, 44 , was arrested on outstanding warrants, possession of CDS II, Theft over $5,000, simple criminal damage to property, and simple burglary.
