Traffic stop leads to 3 arrests

On February 24th, 2022, Deputies observed a 2012 black Toyota Camry following too close and stopped the vehicle on I-10 milepost 60.

During the traffic stop a K-9 was deployed and made a positive alert for narcotics. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered narcotics inside.  A juvenile passenger was also present in the vehicle.

Inside the vehicle deputies located 1 pint bottle of promethazine hydrochloride and codeine phosphate (a schedule V narcotic), 1 baby bottle partially filled with liquid believed to be promethazine, 1 9mm caliber CPX-2 handgun, 1 .22 caliber Mossberg rifle, 1 plastic container containing marijuana, and 1 digital scale.

Nila Ann Augustine, 20, of 2800 Airport Hwy 21, San Marcos , TX was booked on charges of Possession of CDS V, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal use of CDS in presence of a minor, and Possession of a firearm with CDS.

A passenger, Julian Sanchez, Jr., 23, of 10106 Ironside drive, San Antonio, TX was booked on charges of Possession of CDS V, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal use of CDS in presence of a minor, and Possession of a firearm with CDS.

A second passenger, Ed Lendsye Artis, Jr. 22, of 2800 Airport Hwy 21, San Marcos, TX was also booked and charged with Possession of CDS V, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal use of CDS in presence of a minor, and Possession of a firearm with CDS.
