On Thursday September 9, 2021, at around 9:00 pm deputies were requested by Elton Police Department to assist with a disturbance call at 1014 Yoakum Street, Elton. 

Deputies arrived and noticed a male and female sitting in front of the residence. Deputies observed the female had a bloody lip.  Both persons admitted they were involved in a argument. 

Deputies identified both and discovered that the male had an outstanding warrant for Domestic abuse battery charge issued June 2021.

Anthony Ray Powell, 28, of 1014 Yoakum street, Elton was arrested and booked into the parish jail on 4 counts domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, domestic abuse battery with strangulation and the fugitive warrant for domestic abuse battery.
