On Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 2110 hours, Deputies patrolling Interstate 10 made a traffic stop on a red Hyundai Sonata. 

A request to search the vehicle was denied, a K-9 was present and alerted to the presence of narcotics odor.  Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located a large amount of currency and prescription medication. A search of the trunk of the car revealed suitcases containing large vacuum seal bags of marijuana.

Charles Marcus Bellard, 25, of 1900 11th street, Lake Charles was arrested and booked into the parish jail for Following vehicles, Possession of schedule 2 with intent to distribute (2 counts), Possession of schedule 1 with intent with a weight over 2.5 pounds or more, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Transactions involving drug proceeds.
