Traffic stop results in drug arrest

On Tuesday, March 2, deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violation on La 26 near LA 102 in Jennings.  During the traffic stop deputies questioned the driver, Benjamin David Ardoin who appeared to be under the influence. 

A consent to search was obtained by deputies and the search revealed drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.  

Benjamin David Ardoin, 34, of 1525 Hugh Mac road, Ville Platte, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail on charges, improper lane usage, possession of cds II, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm with cds and obstruction of justice.  Ardoin is held in the parish jail awaiting bond.

A passenger Dalton Matthew Jeans, 39, of 4785 W. Cypress st. Lake Charles was issued citation and released for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cds IV and possession of cds II.
