On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, Deputies were dispatched to the Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office in reference to a walk-in complaint of possible physical abuse.

A grandmother reported physical battery that occurred on September 9th and 10th involving two of her grandchildren and their father. 

Deputies obtained statements and observed bruising on both victim's.  A warrant was issued on September 24, 2020 for Domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and Aggravated battery.   

Deputies attempted to locate and serve the warrant on Thursday, 09/24/2020.  The suspect turned himself into the Sheriff's office on Friday, 09/25/2020. 

Alex Wayne Istre, 50, of 2064 Jeff Davis Academy road, Jennings was booked without incident on charges of Aggravated battery and Domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
