Update on COVID-19 from Sheriff

03/23/2020

Sheriff Woods is asking for people to follow the directives of Governor John Bel Edwards and the suggestions from the CDC of a Statewide Stay at Home Order

Treat your neighbors and others as if they have the COVID-19 virus and stay at least 6 feet away and STAY HOME.  Louisiana was number one yesterday,  as the state with the fastest growth of positive confirmed cases.

The only persons out and about should be persons going to and from work, person going to medical appointments if healthcare provider request it, persons going to pick up food at take out or drive thru locations or persons going to pick up medications at a pharmacy.

Do NOT,  visit friends or family unless there is an urgent need to care for them, do not gather in groups of 10 or more, do not get within 6 feet of others, and do not visit hospitals, nursing homes or other group residence facilities.

The Governor's order will be closing all non-essential businesses at 5:00 pm today.

This means that businesses that do not fall under the following guidelines will be closed: Healthcare workers and caregivers, Law enforcement, Public Safety & First Responders, Food and Agriculture, Mental Health and Social Service workers, Pharmacy employees, Workers supporting groceries, pharmacies and other retail sales of food and beverages, Restaurant carryout and quick-serve food operations and food delivery employees, Farm workers, Electricity and Utility Industry Employees, Critical Manufacturing Employees (medical supply chains, energy, transportation, food, chemicals), Petroleum, Natural and Propane Gas Workers, Transportation and Logistics Workers, Communications and Information Technology Employees, and Financial Services and Banking Industry Employees.
