On Tuesday December 10, deputies were dispatched to 3304 N. Frontage road, Jennings in reference to the theft of a firearm. 

The firearm was taken by a juvenile, who had been asked to locate a handgun on Friday December 6 , by his aunt. Detectives located a text message that the juvenile had received, asking him if he could get a .45 caliber pistol. The text came from his aunt, Kay Lynn Simon, 38, of 315 West South street, Welsh.

Simon was arrested and booked for principal to theft of a firearm, illegal possession of stolen firearms, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and obstruction of justice.
