On August 24th, 2013, deputies with the Jefferson Davis Sheriff's office conducted a traffic stop on I-10 at mile marker 64. A 2008 Pontiac was stopped for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, 22 year old Todd Rogers from Houston, TX, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Deputies then spoke to the passenger, Kayla Jackson, 23 yoa, of Houston, TX. While speaking with Jackson in reference to odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle, Jackson voluntarily gave up two plastic bags of marijuana and claimed ownership of the marijuana. Jackson was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish jail for possession of marijuana.
