Deputies were called out to 268 Sheridan street , Iowa around 3:30 am this morning, the homeowner advised her brother-in-law, Miles Hoffpauir 34, of 406 West Division Street, Jennings, LA had come into her house drunk and was fighting with them.

When deputies arrived the homeowners were struggling with Hoffpauir and during his arrest Hoffpauir bit one deputy, fought with several deputies and made racial statements during the time he was being handcuffed and removed from the residence. Hoffpauir continued  to resist by attempting to break out the patrol unit window with his head as he was transported to the jail.

Hoffpauir’s charges include Entry or remaining after being forbidden, Simple Battery, Hate Crimes, Battery of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer and Simple criminal damage to property. Hoffpauir was booked into the parish jail with no bond.
