On Monday, April 10, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to 4317 Hillias Road, Jennings, Louisiana, in reference to a theft complaint. 

Deputies received complaint from Jeff Davis Electric employee that discovered an illegal connection.  Jeff Davis Electric reported the residence electric service had been cancelled in 2021. 

Jeff Davis Electric stated the unauthorized connection accumulated over $5,000.00 in stolen utilities.  Deputies investigating the incident spoke to the resident, David Carl Trahan, 61. 

Trahan admitted to the theft of service and told deputies a friend of his rigged the meter box with steel plates to connect the house's electricity. 

Trahan was arrested and booked into the parish jail for felony Theft.
