Sheriff's Deputies, National Guard and Team Rubicon volunteers are out this morning working to clear roadways of downed trees and debris. Please stay off the roadways so the workers can safely work on clearing travel routes.
Sheriff Woods also wants to remind everyone that the parish is still in mandatory evacuation and curfew is still in place. There are no fuel stations, restaurants or businesses open at this time. There is no reason to be out traveling the roadways unless you have an emergency.
If you have an emergency that requires you to travel, please be mindful that there are downed power lines that may be live and dangerous. Report any road blocks or downed lines to the municipality or the Sheriff's office for areas outside the city limits.
