Police Jury proclaim state of emergency BURN BAN

The Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury has proclaimed a state of emergency to exist in the parish due to extreme dry weather. A burn ban is in effect starting today and continues for the next 30 days.

 

The burning of trash and vegetation, as well as any other open burning will be prohibited. 

 

ALL planned burns are to be reported to the Sheriff’s office or E911 prior to burning.

 

There is also imposed an immediate thirty(30) day ban on the use, discharge, or ignition of any and all projectile fireworks, including but not limited to bottle/stick rockets, missiles, roman candles, or any and all cylinder-launched devices, in all unincorporated areas of Jefferson Davis Parish with the exception of any public fireworks displays presented through permit by the appropriate state and/or local agencies.
