Deputies also located two individuals with outstanding warrants for Cruelty to animals.  In March deputies observed a horse down at a residence on Pitre road, Welsh. Deputies inspected the area and found no feed or hay available to the animals. 

Deputies received information that a second horse had gone down and died, two weeks before and was removed by the landowners.  Deputies filed a report and Judge Gunnell, 31st judicial District judge signed arrest warrants for both, Jerome Earl Lavergne, 45 and Bridget Ann Lavergne, 38, for 14:102.1 Cruelty to Animals. They were located Sunday morning, booked into the parish jail and released with court dates.
